At Skin by Dr Caroline, we understand that skin ageing is a natural process influenced by both internal and external factors. Our medically-led approach and 'natural plus' ethos helps to restore, rejuvenate, and protect your skin, ensuring you look and feel your best at every stage of life.

Ageing

Understanding Skin Ageing — Ageing is influenced by both intrinsic (genetic) and extrinsic (environmental) factors. Intrinsic ageing leads to gradual collagen loss, reduced elasticity, and slower cell turnover—causing fine lines and dryness. Extrinsic ageing, driven by UV exposure, pollution, and lifestyle, accelerates this process, resulting in premature wrinkles, pigmentation, and loss of firmness.

Understanding Skin Ageing

At Skin by Dr Caroline, our expert team combines advanced medical treatments with evidence-based skincare to combat the effects of ageing. Whether through regenerative therapies, targeted skincare plans, or non-invasive aesthetic procedures, we tailor our approach to support your skin’s health and vitality, educating you in the process to ensure you can maintain the results for the long-term.

What treatments do we offer for skin ageing?

Injectable Treatments

A non-surgical approach to ageing, injectables restore volume, soften wrinkles, and improve skin quality.

Botulinum Toxin temporarily relaxes muscles to smooth frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead wrinkles, creating a refreshed, youthful look.

Dermal Fillers restore lost volume and contour in areas like cheeks, lips, and under-eyes using hyaluronic acid for a natural lift and smoother skin.

Skin Boosters deeply hydrate without adding volume, improving elasticity, glow, and texture—ideal for dull or crepey skin.

Polynucleotides are regenerative injectables that repair ageing skin, stimulate collagen, and target under-eye darkness and fine lines.

AlumierMD Facial

A targeted anti-ageing treatment using medical-grade AlumierMD products to exfoliate, brighten, and rejuvenate the skin. Lactic and salicylic acids boost cell turnover, smooth fine lines, and improve texture. Ideal for mature or sun-damaged skin, it also addresses pigmentation. LED therapy is included to stimulate collagen, reduce inflammation, and enhance radiance.

The DMK Enzyme

Facial is a rejuvenating skin treatment designed to restore function at a cellular level. Using enzyme therapy and “science the skin recognises,” it boosts circulation, oxygenation, and collagen production. A tightening mask activates the plasmatic effect, enhancing nutrient flow and detoxification. Temporary redness or veiny patterns may appear—signs of revitalisation. Ideal for ageing skin, it improves tone, reduces fine lines, and lifts sagging without invasive procedures.

NeoGen

NeoGen Plasma is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that utilises nitrogen plasma energy to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and restore youthful vitality. Unlike lasers, which use light, NeoGen converts nitrogen gas into plasma energy, which gently heats the skin in a controlled manner to promote healing and regeneration. This intensive and advanced treatment helps to tighten and firm the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging. It also enhances skin elasticity and smoothness, improving skin tone and reducing age spots and hyperpigmentation.

NeoGen effectively resurfaces the skin by removing damaged layers, revealing a fresher, more even complexion. With its ability to stimulate collagen and promote skin regeneration over 12-18 months, NeoGen helps combat the signs of ageing, leaving the skin looking youthful, vibrant, and revitalised. NeoGen only sell their EVO machine to medically-registered practitioners, indicating the impact and efficacy of this technology.

Microneedling

this minimally invasive treatment uses fine needles to create micro-injuries that stimulate collagen and elastin production. As skin renews, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging diminish. Texture and tone improve, pores appear smaller, and skin becomes firmer and more radiant. Microneedling also enhances the absorption of active skincare ingredients for deeper, more effective results.

The CryoLift facial

The CryoLift facial is a non-invasive treatment that deeply hydrates and rejuvenates skin using high-pressure CO2 infusion combined with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. This boosts oxygen, circulation, and collagen production, resulting in firmer, lifted skin with reduced fine lines. Known as the "red carpet facial," it delivers an immediate glow and hydration with minimal downtime.

Microcurrent therapy

Microcurrent therapy is a non-invasive treatment using low-level electrical currents to stimulate facial muscles, improving tone and firmness. It boosts collagen and elastin production, enhancing skin elasticity, and promotes lymphatic drainage to reduce puffiness. Regular sessions are needed to maintain results.

ENQUIRE

Polynucleotide therapy

Polynucleotide therapy - polynucleotides are highly purified chains of DNA fragments, derived from natural sources like salmon or trout. These molecules work at a cellular level to repair, regenerate, and rejuvenate the skin — making them an ideal treatment for the thin, fragile skin under the eyes. Unlike dermal fillers that add volume, polynucleotides work by stimulating your skin’s natural healing and regeneration processes, making them suitable even for delicate or sensitive areas.
Polynucleotide therapy targets multiple causes of dark circles by:
Improving microcirculation: Better blood flow helps reduce the bluish or purplish appearance caused by poor circulation under the eyes.
Boosting collagen and elastin production: Strengthens and thickens the under-eye skin, making veins and capillaries less visible.
Enhancing skin hydration: Deep hydration plumps and refreshes the under-eye area, reducing hollowness and fine lines.
Repairing oxidative damage: Polynucleotides help neutralise free radicals and reduce inflammation, improving skin tone and texture over time.
Stimulating fibroblasts: Activates the skin's natural regenerative cells, promoting overall skin renewal and firmness.
Polynucleotide treatments are offered by our in-clinic team of medically-registered professionals.

PRP Microneedling

PRP Microneedling — This advanced regenerative treatment combines microneedling with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) to rejuvenate skin and stimulate hair growth. Using your body’s natural growth factors, it boosts collagen, smooths fine lines, improves texture, and accelerates acne healing. When applied to the scalp, PRP helps revive hair follicles, enhance circulation, and encourage new hair growth.

ENQUIRE

Fine lines and wrinkles - over time, the skin loses its elasticity and firmness due to a decrease in collagen and elastin production. This leads to the formation of wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.

Dryness - ageing skin produces less natural oil (sebum), which can result in dryness and flakiness. Dry skin can also appear dull and uneven in texture.

Loss of volume - as fat diminishes in the skin's deeper layers, and as ligament laxity occurs, it can cause sagging and hollow areas, particularly around the cheeks, eyes, and jawline. This can lead to a less youthful appearance.

Age spots - also known or sun spots or hyperpigmentation, these are darkened areas of skin that occur due to prolonged sun exposure over time. They typically appear on the face, hands, shoulders, and arms.

Broken capillaries - as the skin becomes thinner, blood vessels become more visible, leading to a condition known as "spider veins," which appear as small, red or purple veins just under the surface of the skin.

Enlarged pores - as skin loses its firmness, pores may appear larger, giving the skin a less smooth appearance. Addvtionally, collagen, a protein responsible for skin's strength and structure, decreases with age, contributing to sagging, wrinkles, and loss of skin tone.

Uneven skin tone - sun exposure and changes in melanin production can lead to an uneven skin tone, making the skin look blotchy or patchy.
